Is 11 count good for a beginner?
It is the easiest of the common counts to see, and the holes are unmistakable, so it is a reasonable place to start. The trade-off is size: a design worked at eleven stitches to the inch takes up noticeably more fabric than the same design at fourteen.
How big will my design be on 11 count?
Divide the stitch count by 11. A design 100 stitches wide finishes 9.09 inches (231 mm) wide, and 200 stitches finishes twice that.
